One day, some mischievous boys from Oberlarg ran along the furrows and across the fields toward Mörsperg Castle. At the edge of the bank, where the castle brook flowed past, they saw something shining like silver coins. They rushed upon it and soon gathered it all up. But scarcely had they done so when they all became completely blind.

Then they no longer knew where to go or how to find their way. At last, the one who had already pocketed the money took the coins in his left hand and a blessed rosary in his right, stretched out both hands, and cried aloud, “Now, Devil, take what you want!” At those words, their sight returned.
