Johann came one evening to his neighbour Peter’s house (in Peter’s home), but Peter happened to be out. On the table lay an open book. Johann began to read in it.

What happened then? Suddenly mice upon mice came pouring into the room from every corner. In terror Johann trembled in every limb.

Then Peter came in, saw what had happened, quickly seized the book and, reading it backwards, made the mice disappear again.
